1. Scope and Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) governs your use of the SaveMyService Hosting Email service and is incorporated into, and expands upon Section 6 of, our Terms of Use. Capitalized terms have the meaning given there. It applies to you, to anyone you permit to use your Account, and to all Content you transmit, store, or receive through the Service.

SaveMyService Hosting is an email host, not a publisher, and we do not monitor mailboxes. This AUP exists so that the small number of accounts that abuse the Service do not degrade deliverability, security, or availability for everyone else.

Violating this AUP is a material breach of the Terms of Use and may result in suspension or termination under Section 14 of those Terms.

2. Core Principle

Use the Service for ordinary correspondence you have a legitimate reason to send, to recipients who want to hear from you, in volumes consistent with your plan. If a proposed use falls outside that description, ask us at abuse@savemyservice.com before starting rather than after.

3. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Service to transmit, store, or link to:

  • Child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexualizes minors. We report such material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement as required by 18 U.S.C. §2258A, and terminate the Account immediately and without refund.
  • Malware — viruses, worms, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers, rootkits, or other malicious code, including in attachments or linked payloads.
  • Phishing and fraud material — content impersonating a person, brand, financial institution, or government body to obtain credentials, payment, or personal data, including business email compromise and invoice fraud.
  • Content infringing intellectual property, including unauthorized copies of copyrighted works and material infringing trademarks or trade secrets.
  • Threats, harassment, and incitement — true threats of violence, stalking, targeted harassment campaigns, doxxing, or incitement to violence or unlawful discrimination.
  • Content that is otherwise unlawful where you or your recipients are located, including material violating export control, sanctions, securities, gambling, or controlled-substance law.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Access, or attempt to access, any account, system, or data you are not authorized to access;
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of our infrastructure, or conduct penetration testing or vulnerability research against it, without prior written authorization from abuse@savemyservice.com;
  • Interfere with the Service or any user’s use of it, including through denial-of-service activity, resource exhaustion, or deliberate corruption of shared systems;
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent authentication, quotas, rate limits, filtering, blocklisting, or any other technical control;
  • Create Accounts by automated means, create multiple Accounts to evade a suspension or limit, or register using false identity or payment information;
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise provide the Service to third parties, or operate it as a shared relay, hosting facility, or mail service for others, except as expressly permitted by your plan;
  • Use the Service to operate an anonymizing relay or to obscure the origin of traffic for third parties; or
  • Take any action that, in our reasonable judgment, places the security, integrity, availability, or sending reputation of the Service at risk.

Security researchers acting in good faith should contact abuse@savemyservice.com before testing; we will not pursue claims against researchers who follow our disclosure process at abuse@savemyservice.com.

5. Email-Specific Rules

5.1 Consent

You may send only to recipients who have consented to hear from you or with whom you have a genuine pre-existing relationship. You may not send to addresses that were harvested, scraped, purchased, rented, or generated by dictionary attack. You must be able to evidence consent on request.

5.2 Unsolicited and Bulk Mail

You may not send unsolicited bulk or commercial email through the Service, whether the recipients are addressed directly, by blind copy, or via a mailing list. This applies regardless of where the message originates: you may not use the Service to send, relay, or advertise a message whose bulk sending occurs elsewhere. All commercial messages must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, and comparable law in your recipients’ jurisdictions — including accurate headers, non-deceptive subject lines, a valid physical postal address, and a working opt-out honored within ten (10) business days.

5.3 Header and Identity Integrity

You may not forge, alter, or obscure message headers, envelope sender addresses, Received lines, or any other transmission identifier, or misrepresent yourself as another person or entity. You may send from an alias or custom domain you control, and you must maintain accurate SPF, and DMARC records for any domain you use.

5.4 Automated and Application Mail

Plans marketed for individual or small-team use are not intended for transactional application mail, notification streams, marketing platforms, list distribution, or archival of third-party mail. If your use case is automated sending, contact support@savemyservice.com about an appropriate plan rather than routing it through a personal mailbox.

5.5 Auto-Responders, Forwarding, and Loops

Auto-responders must not reply to bulk or automated mail, and forwarding rules must not create mail loops between accounts or providers. You are responsible for configurations that generate runaway traffic, and we may disable them without notice to protect the platform.

5.6 Mailing Lists

Where a plan permits list sending, lists must be confirmed opt-in, must process unsubscribes promptly and automatically, must include List-Unsubscribe headers, and must not be transferred between senders or purposes without fresh consent.

6. Technical Limits and Fair Use

Published limits on storage, message size, attachment size, sending volume, recipients per message, concurrent IMAP connections, POP3 polling frequency, SMTP connections, authentication attempts, and bandwidth are set out in our documentation in the Knowledge Base and referenced in Section 7 of the Terms of Use.

These limits protect deliverability and platform stability. They are not targets to be exhausted, and they may be adjusted — including on an account-specific basis — in response to reputation signals, abuse indicators, or capacity conditions. Deliberately engineering usage to sit just below a limit, or splitting activity across Accounts to evade one, is itself a violation.

Mail clients that behave abusively — excessive polling, connection flooding, ignoring server responses, or repeatedly re-synchronizing entire mailboxes — may be rate-limited or blocked regardless of intent.

7. Enforcement

7.1 How We Respond

Our response is proportionate to the severity, intent, and recurrence of the violation, and to the risk it presents to others. Measures may include:

Measure Typical trigger
Notice and request to remediate First-time, low-risk, likely inadvertent
Rate limiting or reduced sending caps Volume or reputation concerns
Suspension of outbound sending Ongoing spam or deliverability harm
Full suspension of protocol access Serious or repeated violation
Termination without refund Severe violation or repeat offense after notice
Immediate termination and referral Illegal content or conduct

7.2 Immediate Action Without Notice

We may act immediately and without prior notice where a violation involves illegal content, an active security threat, ongoing harm to third parties, or a risk to the integrity or reputation of the platform. Otherwise we will normally give notice and a reasonable opportunity to remediate.

7.3 Appeals

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, write to abuse@savemyservice.com within thirty (30) days with your Account details and an explanation. A person will review the decision. Reinstatement is at our discretion and, per Section 14.5 of the Terms of Use, is not possible after data deletion has occurred.

7.4 Cooperation and Referral

We cooperate with law enforcement, anti-abuse organizations, and blocklist operators as permitted by law and by our Privacy Policy. We do not disclose subscriber data except as described in Section 14 of the Privacy Policy.

7.5 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of this AUP in a particular case does not waive our right to enforce it later.

8. Reporting Abuse

Report suspected abuse to abuse@savemyservice.com. Please include full message headers, the date and time with time zone, and a description of the issue — headers are usually essential to identifying the source. Reports of copyright infringement should be sent to abuse@savemyservice.com in the form required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3).

We acknowledge abuse reports at abuse@savemyservice.com within [3] business days and act on verified reports promptly. We do not disclose the outcome of an investigation into another subscriber’s Account.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP as abuse patterns and applicable law change. Material changes take effect thirty (30) days after we post them and notify you by email, except that changes addressing an active security or legal risk may take effect immediately. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
